#4: The First Month: A Look At How You, Our Members, Have Driven Change

As the sun has set on our first month as a licensed cannabis marketplace, we’d like to take a moment to share an update with our members on everything that’s happened since we started. It’s been an eventful month, to say the least: from adding new products and features to our site, to preparing for the holidays, we’ve been keeping busy!

We have been listening to you, our members, and working hard to make sure that we build what you want to see in a cannabis marketplace. Your emails, reviews, phone calls and messages have been instrumental in guiding us every step of the way. We truly appreciate your feedback, good and bad, and are grateful to have such an engaged and passionate community. So, thank you!

When we started, our mission was to build the best craft cannabis menu in the country. We knew that target was not achievable on day 1, but we also knew that it was the right long-term goal to set for ourselves. In just four weeks, we’ve made incredible strides toward that goal. We're not there yet, but we're inching closer every day. 

What's happened since our launch

Here's a quick recap of everything that's happened since we went live on September 26th:

Product selection - We launched with 17 dried flower strains on day 1 and have since added 28 new strains, totalling 45 different kinds of flower. We’ve also added dozens of new pre-rolls, concentrates, vapes, and oils, capsules and tinctures. In total, there are over 200 products available on the site today.

Lower prices - Many of you told us that you were looking for lower prices and we’ve responded by working with our producer partners to offer more affordable options. We launched member specials and our first $69 ounce, $18 shatter and vapes. We also offer a variety of $5 pre-rolls.

Mix-and-Match - Variety is the spice of life! You can now Mix-and-Match 3 or more products from the same category to unlock bulk discounts. This was a highly requested feature and we’re excited to offer it to our members.

Better shipping options - One of the most common pieces of feedback we received was about shipping. We’ve listened and now offer free local shipping in Greater Vancouver on orders over $99 and over. For mail orders, we offer free Canada Post Expedited shipping on orders $150 and over and free XpressPost on orders over $200.

Better use of your points - You asked for a better way to use your points and we listened! We’ve added dozens of new accessories (and much more to come) to the site that can be purchased directly using your accumulated loyalty points.

A roadmap of what's to come

We've just scratched the surface of what we want to achieve with our cannabis club. In the coming weeks and months, you can expect to see plenty of new additions and enhancements. To give you a taste of what’s to come, here are some of the things we’re working on:

New grading system - You spoke about the inaccuracies of the legacy grading system (A to AAAA) and we agree. It is outdated, subjective and doesn't accurately reflect the quality of the product. We'll soon be introducing a new grading system that is more attuned to the nuances of modern cannabis.

More value-priced options - Expect to see more sub $99 ounces of high-quality dried flower and a rotation of member specials on your favourite products. We're putting a lot of effort to grow this category as we know it's of importance to many of you.

Exclusive drops - Get ready for some special, limited-time offerings, one-off pheno hunts, canned cannabis, and other exclusive products. We're dropping some fire in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. You won't want to miss it!

Upcoming brands on HD

Wider selection - In the next few weeks, we will onboard hundreds of new products from some of the top craft producers in the country. This will include a significant expansion to our flower, concentrates, edibles, topicals, and vapes offerings. Tell us what you want to see and we'll do our best to make it happen.

Enhanced product pages - Making a purchase decision should be easy and we're working to improve the experience on product pages. This is an area we're focusing on and you can expect to see more detailed product information, such as lab reports, burn test videos and integration with terpene databases.

New filters and sorting options - Interested only in cold-cure strains? Or maybe you want to see the highest THC products first? We're working on adding new sorting and filtering options to help you find the perfect match.

More ways to earn and spend rewards - Would you like to earn triple points on your next purchase? Or maybe you want to redeem your points for a Ganga vacation to Hotbox Jamaica? These are some of the ideas we're cooking up to make our loyalty program even more sizzling.

PDF invoices for insurance and taxes - A common request we get is for the ability to download PDF invoices in the My Account section that shows medical document information, such as the doctor's name, address, and gram limits. This is something we're working on and expect to have ready in the next few weeks.

Improved customer support - We know that customer support is important to you and we’re working on solutions to improve how we serve you. A new phone system is being deployed that will help us answer your calls more effectively and we’ll be adding more self-serve support options to the site.

The road to awesome begins and ends with you

It’s been a month since we launched the Herbal Dispatch Cannabis Club, and we’ve already come so far thanks to the feedback and support of our members. We appreciate all of the constructive criticism and suggestions you've provided - it's helped us to make some much-needed improvements. You have been influential in driving change and shaping what Herbal Dispatch will become.

Whether it’s providing feedback on products, offering suggestions on what you’d like to see, or simply being an active member of our community - you are making a difference.
