Despite the fact that it’s the most common way to consume marijuana, many people who use it on a regular basis simply do not know how to roll a decent joint. In fact, a significant number of tokers don’t know how to roll one at all.
This is nothing to be ashamed of, but if one of your bucket list items is to learn how to create that perfect fatty, Herbal Dispatch has got your back.
Before embarking on this journey, joint rollers in training should know that a doobie should burn smoothly and evenly. It also helps to have high-quality paper and, of course, the best weed you can get.
NOTE: Joints can be rolled in hemp paper which is thin but strong, or you can even buy rice paper. Both of those options allow for the flavour of the bud to shine through.
Supplies You Will Need
Some of the supplies necessary other than cannabis and rolling papers include a filter, a grinder and perhaps a thin, pen-shaped object to help pack the joint when it is in tube form.
Step 1
First and foremost, grind your cannabis. Then, create a filter using a thin piece of cardboard.
Start the filter by making a few accordion style folds at the end of the cardboard and then roll the material to the size you would like the joint to be.
Step 2
Once your filter is prepared, take the rolling paper, fill it with the ground cannabis and put the filter in the paper on the end. Then pinch the paper between your fingertips while rolling it back-and-forth to create the optimal shape for this tube of joy that will make your afternoon.
Step 3
Here comes the tricky part, the roll. On one side of the paper there should be an adhesive edge. Take the unglued part and roll the joint until you can tuck it under the adhesive side and then gently press down so it all sticks together.
Step 4
Now that everything is holding its shape, it’s time to pack the end of the joint using a pen-shaped tool of some kind.
NOTE: Don’t use a packing tool with something on it that could be bad for your health, like the tip of a pencil for example.
Once that step is complete, the popular convention is to close the tip with a twist so the joint is easily lit when you want it.
Different Strokes for Different Folks
One of the amazing things about cannabis is the ability to enjoy it many different ways. There are several types of joints one can rule based on their needs.
The Pinner
If you are looking for a short smoke that won’t get you high as balls, you may want to try a pinner, which is basically a really thin joint that holds less weed.
The “L” Joint
There is also something called an “L” joint, which has an extension of paper at the front end to make space for more marijuana.
Let’s Be Blunt
Also, if you are a fan of cigars or the taste of tobacco in general, a blunt can be a good option. Oftentimes, blunt-lovers can buy pre-rolled cones and all that is needed is for the vessel to be filled.
Which ever way you decide to roll, the ultimate end is to get that happy smoke into your system so you can reap the benefits of this awesome plant.
Enjoy!
