It’s safe to say that most people who are enthusiastic about cannabis, enjoy this incredible substance because of the high. That fabulous euphoria, the guilt-free pleasure of temporary inner peace.
Because of those benefits, an often overlooked method of consumption called microdosing does not get the respect it deserves.
The term microdosing is self-explanatory. It’s basically ingesting just enough cannabis where you receive its health benefits, but not enough to experience significant psychotropic effects.
Some doctors who administer cannabis as medicine are firm believers in this method stating that by raising the dose of cannabis, the patient actually sees diminished benefits to the medicine. That means someone can take a small dose of cannabis to reduce anxiety, but too much can cause anxiety.
Microdosing has been used to treat various disorders including depression, anxiety, pain, stress, and insomnia.
So how does one microdose?
One of the best ways to microdose cannabis is through edibles. There are buckets full of cannabis-infused goodies that have bite-size THC counts of 5 to 10 mg. These include gummies and other candy, chocolates, oatmeal, and a wide range of other foods.
A Pint-Sized Puff
If your favourite method of ingesting cannabis is smoking a joint, have no fear. Microdosing through smoking is as simple as taking one or two puffs instead of smoking half the spliff or more.
The best way would be to take a puff, wait a little bit to assess your mood, and then take one more toke if necessary.
Mouth-Hit Your Vape
If you’re using a vaporizer, a great way to microdose would be to set the vape at a low temperature and do what’s called a “mouth-hit.” That’s where you inhale and hold the vapour in your mouth instead of your lungs.
Again, for this method, do one puff then wait a while, then do a second puff if necessary.
Those who have tried microdosing praise its benefits. Some have said that it creates a “mellow and focused feeling.”
Cannabis microdosing could also act as a perfect way to consume less if you are looking to cut back a little.
No matter what the method or reason, cannabis microdosing is something every weed enthusiast should try, even if it’s just for the experience itself of having a light buzz instead of a heavy high.
You never know, less truly might be more.
